The moment I saw the box for the iGino One I thought ‘wow, this looks like a cool kind of vibe’. I’m easily swayed by packaging at times. I had watched the video’s a few times however and not really understood what this vibrator was about.
Packaged in a sleek white and pink box with the tag line ‘what women want’, Just me who has Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt pop into their head?, the iGino One makes quite a good impression. Inside the box however, there really isn’t much to go on. You receive a USB extender cable, and a european to US adapter which is no use in England, and a velvet like pouch which attracts dust. I also cannot stand the feeling of velvet, it makes me cringe!
It is designed to be discreet. Does it look like a sex toy? Nope. It is similar to the size of a cigarette packet and also looks a bit like a large lighter. The iGino One is mainly white, with pink accents and a pink strip around the edges. When the lid is removed the main part of the toy is also pink. I quite like the color palette to be honest, it doesn’t come across as garish and is inline with this summers fashion. Not that I tend to accessorize my outfits with sex toys, but you never know, it might catch on!
The toy is rechargeable and charges by USB. The USB connector is built into the corner of the toy. I found it quite tricky to flip out the first time, but have no problem now. The instructions say to charge to toy for 8 hours, or for first time charging 12 hours. That is an exceptionally long time. What’s worse, is that for all that waiting time, the toy will then apparently only last for 40 minutes! 8 hours charging, for 40 minutes use? Madness! It also emits a very bright purple light when charging.
What makes the iGino One different from other clit stimulators is that the ‘bud’ of the toy moves from side to side. It is meant to mimic the movement of a woman’s own fingers stimulating herself. However unfortunately you can’t really tell this as it moves so quickly so the vibrations feel like every other toy. Believe me, my fingers can no way move as rapidly as this toy can so I think it fails majorly on this criteria.
The iGino One only has one slide switch ‘on’ and ‘off’ and only one speed. This is disappointing as I would expect at least three speeds and for a toy of this cost should be standard. A travel lock would also be useful as it is quite easy to catch and turn on.
The vibrations are strong. If you have a sensitive clit, you will most likely not appreciate this toy. Likewise if you need stronger vibrations than the toy gives, it won’t get you off. For me however, this toy can make me squirt very quickly.
The only slight adjuster you can use is the SkinTouch Head, however it doesn’t really buffer the vibrations at all. Made of EVA, this flower like shape fits over the ‘bud’. As I push it on I can see where I’ve caught it with my nails, it dents extremely easily and also seems to lose it’s shape when squished. It’s a strange choice of material to include with a sex toy I think, it’s basically foam. I tested some water based lubricant on it, and it absorbed it like a sponge.
The SkinTouch Head is also rather small, so can be lost easily. When it is in place on the toy the lid will not fit over it so it needs to be stored separately.
The lid itself works well and clicks into place easily and securely. It is also large enough to not lose.
This toy is not waterproof but is splashproof. It’s is best cleaned with wet wipes and a little toy cleaner.
This is only the beginning for the iGino, there’s definitely a great intention, just needs a bit more work.
If this vibrator was cheaper, it wouldn’t be so bad but for the price they are asking its just far too little for too much.
