Lube, lube, lube. We all use it, don’t deny it. I bet you have some, even if it is KY jelly.
Now though, things are looking up in the world of lube. The horrible smells, stickiness and accidents of it squirting out are no longer an issue. There’s a new kid on the block; Give Lube
Now you may stick up your nose and say that you’ve still got youth in you and don’t need it, but as the site states “The use of sexual lubricant is linked to “significantly higher ratings of pleasure and satisfaction” for men and women, young and old”. So there you have it, want to improve your sex life? Lube up!
On to the review
Give Lube have kindly sent me two lubes to test. They are packaged in smart bottles, which almost look like hair product containers with a sleek black and silver design on both with added blue on the Aqua gel. They’re quite discreet so wouldn’t be an issue if you accidentally left them lying around as I do often! The only issue with them being all black, is that you cannot see how much lube is left in them.
They both come in sizes 30ml mini (a lovely handbag size) and 100ml midi. The Premium Aqua Gel also comes in a 250ml maxi size! The ‘lubetubes’ are easy to open with a flip lid and can be done one handed, so no faffing around whilst you’re getting down to it. They have a strong shut, so when you throw them out of the way there’s no worrying about lube flying everywhere.
The lube drips out of the tube, rather than squirts. I see this as a bonus, as I have a tendency to use far too much! A little goes a long way with both of these lubes, so you really only do need a few drops.
What’s it made out of?
The Silicone Plus lube is a blend of three high blend medical grade silicones and is CE marked medical. It is also free from preservatives and dermatologically tested, so no need to worry about it harming your body.
As it is silicone based, it is able to be used under water. It works well underwater and doesn’t wash off as I expected it to. Definitely a good contender!
The smoothness of the lube really impressed me, it isn’t at all sticky, and very gentle on the skin which made me feel extra soft! It doesn’t disappoint as it boasts its flavorless, odorless and colorless. It is suitable for latex condoms, vaginal, anal, oral sex, masturbation and massage.
The Premium Aqua Gel is the one which appeals more to me as it can be used on toys, it is also of course condom safe. It includes both Aloe Vera and Pathenol, so it is really soft on the skin and makes a good moisturizer too. Imagine how soft your lips would be after giving a blowjob with this lube!
It is glycerin free, so no horrible oils in here, has been dermatologically tested and also has no paraben which has been found in breast cancer tumors. So glad that’s not in there.
As with the Silicone Plus, it is colorless and odorless. It is almost tasteless, just has a slight tingling to it which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It spreads evenly and easily with a lovely consistency, as you don’t need to use a lot this lube will definitely last you a while.
Both lubes stay on well when needed, and are easily washed off with soap and water or sex toy cleaner. They don’t leave behind any stickiness which is a huge bonus, and leave your skin feeling smooth as well.
I will definitely be using this now as my usual lube.
Just a little side note; when it comes to lube, you have to think opposites. That’s the only way I can remember!
Want to use it in water? Pick the Silicone lube.
For use on a Silicone toy? Use the Aqua gel lube.
Well, they say opposites attract. Lube is especially important for anal. Check out my anal sex guide.
