Durex have recently launched their new range of lubes, Durex Embrace Pleasure Gels. Consisting of two lubricants, Embrace promises ‘an amazing connection together’ by use of it’s warming and tingling gels. With new packaging which links the bottles together in a yin and yang affect, Durex have sacrificed their easy press pump for a squeeze bottle with flip lid.
Durex Embrace bottles contain 60ml of lube and are discreet enough to comfortably fit in your hand. The warming sensation is in the pink bottle and tingling in purple. For male and female lubricants, the colors look rather feminine and more like shower gels than lubricants, which could make them quite discreet.
Warming and tinging gels are nothing new to durex as they have previously had these on the market in their Play range. They now are able to list the ingredients which they did not previously.
Pink warming gel: Glycerin, Propanediol, Propylene glycol, PEG-8, Hydroxyethylcellose, Benzolic acid, Aqua, Citric acid, Vanillyl butyl ether.
Purple tingling gel: Aqua, Propylene glycol, Hydroxyethylcellose, PEG-40, Hydrogenated castor oil, Aroma, Benzoic acid, Sodium hydroxide.
The warming gel has no smell and little taste. The tingle gel has a slight scent to it but no taste. Both gels are still slightly sticky, but no where near as sticky as others in the Play range.
I started off with the warming sensation gel. My initial reaction was ‘Oh, I can’t feel anything’. This soon changed. After half a minute the warming sensation started, which was quite nice. Unfortunately this then built up in to a burning sensation then an ‘OW MAKE IT STOP’ sensation to the point where tears were actually forming in my eyes. Yep, the lube made me cry. Needless to say that the warming lubricant is very intense and should be used sparingly. For pleasure purposes, I will not be using this lubricant again any time soon, however the warming lubricant would make a great punishment for some!
The tingling lubricant was a lot nicer to me. It created a feeling which I couldn’t quite describe, I don’t think tingling is really the right word, but was certainly a different feeling and thankfully not a burning one!
Using both lubricants together for me, the warming (ahem, burning) lubricant took over so was not pleasant for me personally.
I will add that I am quite sensitive so could feel the sensations more than others perhaps would.
