I’ve always been in need of a good massage, to say I’m tense is a massive understatement. I thought I’d see how Jimmy Jane go about giving a massage with their Contour M Massage Stone.
The packaging is in line with the usual Jimmy Jane products, a simple white box with pink and grey undertones. The stone itself is cased in cardboard and the box can safely be used for storing the stone. The box shows the products which go with the massager, as well as the different uses and has a small paragraph about Jimmy Jane which is translated into different languages on each side.
The Contour M Massage Stone is extremely smooth to touch with a fantastic shape, however it does have a small section on the inner middle which isn’t glazed. It has four main points which can be used for pin point pressure, or turn it over and the curve of the stone will work your muscles too in broad wide stokes. It has a cupped centre in which you can add oil or hot wax if you so wished. It is also compatible with other Jimmy Jane massagers which will sit between the points. These are the Contour Q and Contour I. It is made of porcelain and has the Jimmy Jane logo printed in grey along the side. Aesthetically, it looks great.
The fabulous thing about the porcelain massage stone, is that it can be heated or cooled. To heat it up you can add a hot oil or wax to the centre, or place it in warm water or as I did warm it up in your hands. To cool it down place it in the fridge, or cool water.
It starts off really cold when out of the packaging. I’m not a fan of cold things, so warm was definitely the best way to go. My partner massaged my back with it, and I found it really uncomfortable, I squirmed around. It was to hard for me against my shoulders. If I play with the stone myself however it is very soothing.
We swapped positions so I massaged his back, and he loved it. Well, what can I say, I’m just much better at massages! The four points pinpoint knots in muscles really well and can be used at different angles and positions. The stone fits comfortably in my hand, and I am able to use varying pressure without my arm tiring as it would normally.
The stone is very easy to clean, just wash it in warm water with an antibacterial soap.
Overall, it is a great stone. If you love massages I would definitely recommend it or you and your partner.
